Isn’t it great to have a week of good economic news for a change! Interest rates down again and the stats say the economy is booming (although some may dispute that).
I’m still not sure it will settle everyone down, nor do I think it will automatically rev the property market up, but it’s good news all the same.
Interestingly we have had a significant increase in new listings over the last couple of weeks, which is unusual for this time of year. The first weeks of Winter usually sees a slowdown in listings as potential vendors prefer to hold off those extra couple of months until Spring. Most vendors assume buyers hibernate during the colder months.
But not this year. From Crows Nest to Pyrmont and Alexandria we have vendors who are not under pressure but who want to move now so they are settled by Spring. Sounds like a good plan to me. And even in the cold weather buyers are still out and about.
If you aren’t ready to list now spend the winter getting ready. Remember that when selling a property you’re selling a lifestyle so styling is crucial. We just sold an amazing apartment in the Wharf at Woolloomooloo that offered the buyers exactly the easy, city harbourside lifestyle they were looking for.
